Yougi’s Washoku Renaissance
Washoku Renaissance, led by award-winning chef Youji Iwakura, is currently open for pre-reserved dinners at Foundation Kitchen as a restaurant in residence featuring an 8-seat sushi kaiseki counter.
The experience is intended to evoke that of an old-downtown Tokyo-style sushi supper club, blended with the feel of omakase. The set menu includes 16 courses, including soup, kaiseki appetizer(s), and nigiri sushi.
Chef Yougi was formerly behind the downtown Japanese restaurant Kamakura, before closing and operating Washoku Renaissance as a ghost kitchen during the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurant at Foundation Kitchen serves some of the best sushi in Boston and is a must-visit not only for local sushi lovers but anyone willing to splurge for a memorable meal.
